Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of musical interpretations of Federico García Lorca’s poetic heritage in the culture of the 20th century. It examines the features of the interaction between words and music in vocal and stage genres, as well as the role of folk intonations and the concept of duende in composers’ understanding of Lorca’s texts. In the historical context, the works of composers S. Sokolov and A. Yanov-Yanovsky are analyzed as examples of modern interpretations of Lorca’s poetry in musical art. The study concludes on the significance of Lorca’s artistic world for the development of the musical-poetic synthesis of the 20th century.
