सार
In modern dental practice, patients are increasingly planning to restore their teeth using dental implants. When a tooth is removed from its socket, the periodontal fibers are torn, which inevitably triggers the resorption of the cortical plate of the outer wall of the alveolus, the level of which depends on its width and the number of fibers it contains. In the frontal section of the jaws, the thickness of the outer wall of the alveolus occasionally reaches 1 mm and is subjected to almost complete lysis during tooth extraction. The data obtained as a result of a systematic retrospective analysis does not provide an adequate evidence base for determining the specific advantages of one method of surgical treatment of alveolar ridge atrophy of the upper jaw over other methods. Any technique should be selected in accordance with the individual anatomical features of the patient. The extent of surgical intervention depends on the severity of jawbone atrophy. It is of paramount importance to obtain research results in combination with concomitant diseases.
